World Champion Kadeena Cox signs-up to Experian Support Hub

World and Paralympic Champion and Celebrity Masterchef winner to help drive awareness of Support Hub, a service that makes essential services more accessible for those with support and accessibility needs

30, July, 2024: Experian today announces a new partnership with World and Paralympic Champion, Kadeena Cox.

Serial gold medal winner and record breaker, Kadeena will help drive awareness of Experian Support Hub with a series of videos across the summer, highlighting the benefits of the service for those with access and support needs.

Kadeena will share her story around how Multiple Sclerosis (MS) impacts her daily life, including having trouble walking, fatigue and suffering from cognitive impairment. A recent study has shown that the number of people living with MS in the UK has increased by nearly 13% over the last few years with women 2.5 times more likely than men to be diagnosed with MS.

In addition, research from Experian found that nearly three-quarters of disabled people (73%) delayed contacting an essential service provider because the process felt too daunting for them to undertake, leading to negative customer outcomes and poor service.

The Experian Support Hub platform aims to get people the correct support, save time and avoid multiple conversations by letting them share their access needs with multiple service providers in one simple process. This could include their preferred method of communication such as letter, telephone, or email, or other requirements such as needing a longer appointment and being accompanied by another adult to assist them.

Previously a professional able-bodied athlete, Kadeena suffered a stroke in 2015 and was subsequently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS). She became the first person in 32 years to win gold medals in two different sports at a Paralympic Games, winning the T38 athletics 400m and C4 cycling 500m time trial at Rio 2016, setting new world records in both.

Kadeena Cox said: “I am delighted to be working with Experian. Support Hub is a great service which knocks down barriers for those with disabilities and access needs, helping people get the service they deserve.

“Like many people with a disability, it impacts my daily life in ways which people can’t see. Something as simple as contacting and speaking with service providers can sometimes feel like an exhausting chore – that’s why a service like Support Hub is so important.”

Jose Luiz Rossi, Managing Director, Experian UK&I, said: “Kadeena is one of the country’s most successful para-athletes and we are very proud that she is working with us on one of our most important initiatives.

“Experian Support Hub helps solves a real consumer issue, and made with inclusivity in mind, enabling people to share their access and support needs in a simple, standardised way so they can get access to services in a way which is most appropriate to them.”
