Experian high flyers graduate from Nottingham Business School

Nottingham, UK, 12th August 2014Nottingham Business School’s first fully sponsored in-company degree students have all graduated with top degrees and permanent employment at Experian, the global information services company.

The business school, part of Nottingham Trent University, has been working with Experian since 2011 when 11 students started their specialised BA (Hons) Management and Leadership course.  The course included a full-time job at Experian along with a basic salary and support for their tuition fees.  The students worked within various roles across the business, which incorporated regular study blocks to enable them to fulfil their academic work.

The group successfully graduated with eight first-class honours and three upper second-class honours.

Rebecca Warrington, 22, from Mansfield is currently working as a Campaign Executive at Experian.  She said:

“A few months after leaving sixth form I applied for university because the jobs market was poor and I felt I could do better.  With this course you have to grow up fast and take on a lot, but now I already have a wealth of business experience and I’m in a career that I plan to progress at Experian.”

Polly Pick, Course Leader, added:

“The first group of fully-sponsored graduates have worked very hard and done exceptionally well.  The experience they’ve gained during their time at Experian is invaluable and now they’ve graduated without debt and with full-time employment, giving them the best start to their careers.”

Experian has always been at the forefront of nurturing potential talent within its business.  The company runs a number of schemes that aim to build future pipelines of talent, investing in the future.  For example, Experian’s Early Career Programme currently accommodates 99 young people, with the next crop of talented youngsters being welcomed in September 2014.

Chris Clark, Managing Director, Experian UK&I, said:

“We’re delighted by the success of our sponsored in-company degree scheme with Nottingham Business School. Our people are one of our most important assets and this scheme helps us find, support and develop new talent, which is great for Experian and for the local economy. This is first crop of graduates to come through the scheme and they have certainly excelled by gaining excellent degrees, while at the same time laying the foundations for what we hope will be long and happy careers at Experian.”

Nottingham Business School now has a number of students on its in-company learning degrees.  As well as Experian, they have been working closely with companies such as Rolls Royce and First Response.  The recruitment process has begun for the 2015 intake, so to find out more information about the opportunities available visit the Nottingham Business School website.
