Experian Named a Top Workplace by the Orange County Register
People-first culture, community outreach help Experian make the list

Costa Mesa, Calif., Dec. 6, 2013Experian®, the leading global information services company, today announced that it has been selected as one of The Orange County Register’s Top Workplaces based on employee feedback in a survey of hundreds of leading companies in Orange County, which has been home to Experian for more than 40 years.

“We are honored to be named as a Top Workplace by the Orange County Register,” said Victor Nichols, chief executive officer, Experian North America. “This honor is a reflection of our commitment to excellence and longstanding tradition of creating an enriching and rewarding work environment that benefits our clients, consumers, communities and team members.”

For the first time, according to the OC Register, the survey asked employees to rank their employers as to how “socially responsible” they are.  Based on the survey, Experian North America ranked number three amongst large companies in social responsibility.

Experian has created a culture of engagement in the communities we have offices and employees. The company does this by not only fostering relationships with local nonprofit organizations, but by rolling up its sleeves and personally volunteering time and resources through its Heart of Experian community outreach program.

Last year, Experian employees spent over 18,000 hours in volunteer time for our worldwide philanthropy partners, helping contribute $6.1 million. In Orange County, the Experian employees from our North American headquarters in Costa Mesa raised $138,000 and volunteered 2,284 hours with important local causes such as CHOC and the Susan G. Komen Race For The Cure.

“From our commitment to financial literacy to our ongoing relationships with UCI and the Orange County Business Council, and our volunteerism to Children’s Hospital of Orange County and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, Experian team members continue to make a difference within the Orange County community,” said Dayna Parker, chief human resources officer, Experian North America. “There are a lot of reasons why people love working at Experian, but our commitment to the communities where we work is a big part of our culture and our values.”

The Orange County Register published the complete list of Top Workplaces on Thursday, December 5. The Top Workplaces were determined based solely on employee feedback. The survey was conducted by WorkplaceDynamics, LLP, a leading research firm on organizational health and employee engagement. “The Orange County Register's top workplace initiative identifies 100 companies that truly understand the essential link between a positive corporate culture and bottom line performance and growth,” said Steve Churm, vice president of the Register and Freedom Communications. “Experian is one of those great companies in the heart of Orange County that recognize their key assets are their employees, and that their well-being and growth drives Experian's success.”
