Precise IDSM for healthcare portals helps safeguard a patient’s electronic health records within online portals
Costa Mesa, Calif., Dec. 19, 2013 — Experian®, the leading global information services company, today announced that it has integrated its identity proofing and risk-based authentication platform, Precise IDSM for healthcare portals, with Epic’s MyChart patient portal to enable healthcare providers to quickly and securely authenticate, validate and risk-assess patient identities prior to accessing medical information online.

Precise ID for healthcare portals combines Experian’s state-of-the-art identity proofing and risk-based authentication technology with industry-leading data assets and advanced analytics to help healthcare organizations securely verify each patient’s identity. Prior to accessing medical information online, patients and authorized users can be authenticated via a combination of real-time questions that only they are likely to know.
With this integration, Experian’s Precise ID adds to its growing list of users, including numerous public and private healthcare systems as well as federal, state and local government agencies, to meet identity proofing requirements either in a standalone environment or via a more robust multifactor credentialing program.
