Divestment of Sinotrust Market Research Services

13 May 2013 – Experian, the global information services company, announces that it has agreed to divest the market research services (SMR) business of Sinotrust International Information & Consulting (Beijing) Co. in China to WPP. The divestment is subject to regulatory approval and other closing conditions.

Experian’s Marketing Services strategy has evolved over recent years to focus increasingly on digital marketing capabilities. The divestment of SMR, whose activities principally consist of providing automotive clients with custom market research, will further tighten the strategic focus of Experian Marketing Services in the Asia Pacific region.

Experian will continue to focus on building multi-channel marketing activities in China and retains Sinotrust’s business information services in China. SMR revenues for the year ended 31 March 2013 were US$41m (RMB 255m).
