Experian speeds up insurance decision making with new data service

17 May 2012, Nottingham, UK – Experian®, the global information services company, today announced the launch of Data Request Service, a robust and secure service providing immediate access to high volumes of home and motor insurance claims data from the Claims and Underwriting Exchange (CUE) [1] in order to validate insurance history.

With the majority of insurance sales being generated through insurers’ websites and online price comparison services, Experian’s Data Request Service fulfils the growing need for immediate access to claims information that insurers require to make quicker and more accurate underwriting decisions. It will also help consumers experience a faster and smoother journey when purchasing insurance over the internet.

Experian’s Data Request Service also provides insurers with rapid access to its credit information to help decide whether to offer premium installments, as well as a range of information that they can use to help price policies.

This new service utilises the latest in secure web services infrastructure to minimise the time and effort required to integrate with insurers’ systems.

Jo Buxton, General Manager of Experian Insurance comments:  "Rapid secure delivery of high volumes of data that informs claims and quotation decisions is essential to insurers.  We are committed to innovating new insurance data services which improve the quality of information at the point of quotation and thereafter support insurers in generating greater efficiencies in their business.”
