Expedia moves search engine optimisation (SEO) management from US to Australia to partner with Experian

Sydney, Australia, January 2011 – Experian®, the global information services company, today announced a significant enterprise deal with Expedia Australia Pty Limited to provide SEO services for Expedia, Inc. in connection with its websites: expedia.com.au and expedia.co.nz.

Previously, Expedia, Inc, the world’s largest online travel company, used SEO agencies outside of the Experian brand in the US and New Zealand. However these providers were not delivering the level of service and innovation required by Expedia, Inc. Impressed by Experian’s local capabilities, the company decided to move the management of SEO activity for Expedia.com.au and Expedia.co.nz from the US and Japan to Australia.

Selected through a competitive tender process, Experian will use its SEO expertise in order to drive higher organic search engine rankings. This will help to deliver more traffic to the Expedia.com.au and Expedia.co.nz sites.  This new contract between the two companies strengthens Experian’s relationship with Expedia Australia and demonstrates its global reach and superior SEO offering that will be used to help Expedia, Inc. deliver its core business objectives.

Results will be achieved through a bespoke reporting solution using Experian’s dashboards: proprietary software applications that allow easy access and viewing of a website’s traffic. It will enable Expedia Australia to monitor the search engine rankings, market share and traffic of hundreds of target keywords on a daily basis to track the most effective areas for Expedia, Inc. to invest marketing spend.

Experian’s SEO services will provide Expedia Australia with insights into search engine rankings by keyword, competitor ranking analysis and benchmarking against competitors. A team of 10 dedicated Experian SEO analysts will work on the Expedia account.
