State Unemployment Insurance Programs Adopt QuickAddress Software for Address Verification

Colorado and Alabama Implement QAS Contact Data Quality to Increase Efficiency and Improve Client Service

BOSTON – May 12, 2008 – QAS, a part of Experian® (LSE: EXPN) specializing in customer data quality software and services, announced today that the Alabama Department of Industrial Relations and Colorado Unemployment Insurance (UI) Program have selected QAS address verification products to increase efficiency and improve client service.

Colorado and Alabama join a growing list of state unemployment agencies using QAS products to improve the quality of client contact information. The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry, Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training, Massachusetts Division of Unemployment Assistance, and Ohio Department of Job & Family Services are current QAS customers.

QAS QuickAddress Pro will be deployed in the Colorado UI Operations branch that mails materials such as letters of eligibility, statements, tax notices, debit cards, direct deposit stubs, and checks.

The Colorado UI Program looked for a product that would reduce the amount of returned customer mail. The UI Program purchased several products from the QAS suite to enable real-time address verification at all agency data entry points, including its web site. Its business objective is to reduce the amount of returned mail, speed up claim processing time, facilitate customer online filing, and verify that tax invoices are mailed to correct employer addresses. Clean and verified address data will also deliver internal time and cost savings by reducing the amount of undeliverable mail that needs to be researched and reworked.

"We were experiencing large amounts of retuned mail due to incorrect address information coming in from our call center and web application sites,” said Jay Johnson, operations manager and business analyst at the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment, Colorado UI Operations. “Because we send out time sensitive and private documents, we needed to guarantee that our customers receive our information on time.”

The Alabama Department of Industrial Relations recently selected QAS and implemented QAS QuickAddress Pro Web on its external claimant portal. It is currently deploying QAS QuickAddress Pro in its call center and other central office operations. The agency selected QAS, because of its point-of-entry validation capabilities, which prevent bad contact information from entering information systems.

“QAS’ success with state unemployment programs is a testament to the service orientation of these agencies and our experience in the government market,” said Chas Kielt, senior director of marketing, QAS. “With unemployment claims rising amid a challenging economy, QAS looks forward to helping state unemployment agencies maintain service-levels and operating efficiencies by providing purpose-built contact quality products that are quickly deployed, easy to use, and highly effective.”
