Experian lends support to raise funds for Nottingham City Hospital’s Neo-Natal Unit

Nottingham, UK, 15 May 2008 - Experian®, the global information services company, will today give £2337 to Nottingham City Hospital’s Neo-Natal Baby Unit after a fundraising drive.

Every year Experian’s Tech Services team aims to raise money for a local charity as voted for by the department.  The Neo Natal Baby Unit was decided on and the team, based at Fairham House in Ruddington, put on a number of fundraising activities including a raffle, an X-Box driving competition and an auction.   .

Sophie Maloney, a member of the Tech Services team, was the chief fundraiser and spoke about the team’s motivation: “Several people within the division have benefited from the excellent support provided by the neo-natal unit so we wanted to give something back.  It was good fun and great prizes including a web-cam, vouchers and football tickets made the raffle extremely popular. It was a real team effort and very rewarding. With match-funding from Experian, the team raised nearly £2500 for a vital neo-natal unit that touches many local people’s lives.”

On Experian’s donation, Tarik Oumazzane, Communications Manager for Nottingham University Hospitals Charity, said: "On behalf of the Hospitals Charity, I would like to say a huge thank you to Sophie Maloney and her colleagues at Experian for all of their amazing fundraising work and generosity. It is only through people like them that we are able to enhance the services provided at our hospital’s Neo Natal Baby Unit, that otherwise would not be possible."

The cheque presentation is taking place Thursday 15 May from 12.30p.m at the Nottingham City Hospital’s Neo-Natal Unit.

Tiku Patel, UK & Ireland Managing Director of Experian, commented: “It is great to see Experian’s people coming together to raise money for charity, especially when it is one that is so close to their hearts.  Supporting the local community is something that is incredibly important to our business.  In the last year alone, our people gave nearly 4,500 hours of their time to raise money for charity and support community initiatives. Our Tech Services team should be very proud of the amount they raised for this great cause, it is a major achievement and a great example of teamwork.”
