Experian brings Lapland to St Anns

Blue Bell Hill School children in for a festive surprise!

Nottingham, UK, 17 December 2008 - Experian’s HR team have certainly been busy elves preparing for Christmas this year.  Less than a month ago they took up a Community Christmas Challenge to transform a classroom at Blue Bell Hill School in St Anns, into Santa’s Grotto...

On Wednesday 17 December two classrooms at Blue Bell Hill School will turn into Santa’s Grotto and an Enchanted Christmas Forest.  Joining Santa and the elves to meet and greet the children will be two reindeer as well as a Grinch and a whole host of other Christmas characters supplied by Experian.

After Santa’s grand entrance with his reindeer at 9.15am, he will head to his grotto to give all 260 pupils a present.  Afterwards, the children will have their Christmas dinner and prepare for their school disco in the afternoon.

Santa Claus, and Head of Talent & Development for Experian, Simon O’Halloran commented, “We wanted a big challenge with a Christmas theme so we thought we’d bring Lapland to Blue Bell Hill.  The team’s enthusiasm and hard work has been inspiring.  They have been really creative with the design and build of the grotto and have increased their £250 budget ten-fold by securing a number of generous donations from suppliers and local businesses. It will definitely be a day to remember. The fact that we have even managed to get two reindeer for the day, shows just how incredible everyone’s support has been. ”

Head teacher Jo Bradley commented, “The children are going to be ecstatic.  Experian has done a fantastic job doing it all on the quiet and we’re really happy they chose Blue Bell.  Seeing real life reindeer and the grotto in all its glory will definitely make it a very special day for the children and their families.  We can’t thank Experian and local businesses enough for their community spirit.”
