Experian Appoints Global Chief Information Officer

Nottingham, UK, 18 August 2008 – Experian®, the global information services company, today announced that it has promoted Mel Mason to Global Chief Information Officer (CIO). He was previously Managing Director of Technology Services for Experian UK & Ireland.

The Global CIO is a new role within Experian, reporting to Mike DeVico, Group President, Experian Americas.  Mason is responsible for the development and implementation of a common technology strategy and deployment policy as well as enhancing service delivery quality, integrating data centres and networks, and improving overall operating efficiencies across Experian businesses globally.

Mel joined Experian in 2003 from GUS’s Home Shopping division where he spent 12 years as IT Director, and also had responsibility for Customer Service and Credit. Previously he spent 17 years at Tesco, progressing to become deputy to the IT Director.
